Actos Bladder Cancer Class Action Lawsuit

Many Actos class action lawsuits and individual actions have been filed around the country following reports that using Actos (pioglitazone) may result in an elevated risk of bladder cancer.  Specifically, conclusions of a study have shown that diabetics who used Actos for more than 12 months had a 40% higher chance of developing bladder cancer. .Takeda Pharmaceuticals manufactured Actos to assist with stabilizing glucose (blood sugar) levels in Type 2 diabetic adults.

Takeda Pharmaceuticals manufactured Actos to aid diabetic people with better insulin creation. Actos was also taken to prevent a liver from emitting glucose or sugar when it was not naturally required.  The Actos class action lawsuit and Actos bladder cancer lawsuits claim that Takeda Pharmaceuticals was aware of the elevated risks of bladder cancer for diabetics who used Actos for more than one year however the company did not inform patients and doctors of these facts.

Some symptoms of bladder cancer include:

• Agonizing or frequent urination

• Urinary tract infection(s)

• Blood in urine
