Mitsubishi Reported Inflated Gas Mileage In Japanese Cars, EPA Orders New Testing of U.S. Models

Japanese automaker Mitsubishi said it overstated the gas mileage of small cars it sold in Japan. The cars, which are not sold in the United States, are called minicars. Their primary selling point is great gas mileage, which is big issue in Japan.

In light of this news, the United States Environmental Protection Agency ordered Mitsubishi to test the cars it sells in the United States.
