Neiman Marcus Database Hacked for Customer Credit Card Information

Neiman Marcus announced that its customer information database which includes credit card data was cyber attacked in mid-December. 

Ginger Reeder, a Neiman Marcus spokeswoman, stated that the company is working with a forensics company and a third-party intelligence firm to trace the breach.  “The security of our customers’ information is always a priority and we sincerely regret any inconvenience,” said Reeder.  

Also, the U.S. Secret Service is investigating the cyber attack.  “We have begun to contain the intrusion and have taken significant steps to further enhance information,” stated Reeder.
