TD Bank’s Penny Arcade May Be Penny Foolish

By on April 11, 2016

TD Bank took its popular Penny Arcade machines off line for testing after an NBC report claimed the counters shortchanged consumers.

According to the report, NBC counted by hand $300 in coins and tested 5 TD Bank locations, and each came up short by as little as $0.5 to as much as $0.70.

Coinstar machines, which were also tested, came up accurate, according to the report.

In response to the NBC report, TD Bank took the coin machines off-line while it ran diagnostic tests to ensure accurate counting.
